Our Team

Aum

Hi,
I am Aum Upadhyay, the founder and president of Science For Community [SFC]. I am a self-taught science enthusiast aspiring to make every elementary and middle-schooler an expert in all sciences without needing any kind of tutoring. SFC’s challenging and elimination-free STEM game event called Buzz Bowl promotes self-studying and offers fun gaming experience. My mission is to build strong STEM community around me through Buzz Bowl. Come join me in creating the future generation of scientists.

Jessica

Hi,
My name is Jessica Ruan. While STEM is often associated with rote routine, I believe that STEM disciplines promote creative thinking if done right. Science is about discovering the unknown by dreaming up crazy possibilities, engineering is about applying the known in novel ways, math is about problem-solving, and technology is...used to make the acronym prettier. SFC incentivizes young students to dig deep into STEM concepts through a healthy blend of cooperation and competition outside of school settings. I am excited to spread my passion for STEM through SFC. In my free time, I like coding, drawing, and math.

Kirti

Hi,
My name is Kirti Hargunani and I am a junior at Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California. I like STEM because it allows me to think critically and innovatively. Science For Community helps the students by fostering a learning environment and giving them an opportunity to compete with others to put their knowledge to the test. I am grateful to be a part of SFC because it gives me the chance to not only challenge other students but to delve deeper into a plethora of areas of science.

Andrew

Hi,
I am Andrew Ruan. I like STEM because it doesn’t get old it keeps expanding and changing through the years. SFC can help students have an idea of just how much they know about STEM, and they can learn along the way too as proctors read questions and answers. I’m excited about being involved in SFC because I enjoy learning STEM and it has been the strong side of my academics. At last, it is interesting to be able to interact with younger students and practice being a leader, as that is a skill that I don’t always have to chance to work on regularly.

Kareena

I enjoy science because it is challenging and requires me to think creatively. I am excited to work with team SFC as we all share the same interests.
